Doctor Who 2010The Christmas Special this year is titled "The Next Doctor", with David Morrisey aka Ripley Holden from Blackpool. Also starring in Blackpool was David Tennant aka Scot-detective-guy-who-ran-off-with-Mrs. Holden aka DI Peter Carlisle.
And more pressingly, David Tennant had recently announced his stepping down from the Who mantle.
...And my first reaction was "Holy Moses, Ripley Holden's taking over the Tardis from Carlisle!"
Holden: J00 took wifey? O_O I'ma taking j00r Tardis nao!~~~~~
Life on Mars (US) on 8daysSo SingTel's mio bought a full page in 8days promoting the shows that are available now and Life on Mars (US) caught my eye.
*pause* It's the pornstache. I'm a big fan of the pornstache.
I have a whole photobucket album devoted to pornstaches. And so after digging a lil into it, I remembered that the US series is actually a remake of the UK series. So I checked and lo! It's the Master--I mean, John Simm!!!
So naturally, I told bro about it and I think my exact description was as follows:
Life on Mars (UK)-->Dude... I'm tempted to get this coz of Master!Simm and the pr0nstaches...
Life on Mars (US)-->...and I'm tempted to get this just coz of the pr0nstache...
His reply to me was "Damn... now you're making me wanna watch it too."
So we're getting it and will be watching both the UK and the US series soon. Hopefully. If we have time. =_=
P.S. Another series that migrated from the UK to the US is Eleventh Hour.
P.P.S. This US fall TV season seems to have a lot of people and shows from across the pond... (more than last fall TV season??)

Also, further prodding linked me to Philip Glenister aka the other famous dude on LoM(UK) and I was like "hmm... Glenister... sounds familiar... Isn't that the last name of the guy that played Ash in Hustle?"
And yes, my fountain of useless entertainment trivia was spot-on again. Ash aka Robert Glenister is his older brother.
...which brings us to...

Hustle 2009After suffering through Series 4 without the heart and soul of the series, Mickey Stone is back! So's Albert and my favorite Ash. =3 Pity Danny and Stacie won't be around though...

Weird CrushSo something totally coincidental happened the other day.
I was bored and randomly thought "Hey, what's the birthday of that guy with the crazy hair on Top Gear? The one voted No. 1 Weird Crush 2007 in Heat Magazine". Still don't know where that came from since the only contact I've had with Top Gear was the Top Gear mag dad bought a couple of years ago and that episode where David Tennant wore that brown velvety suit thing. The magazine is nice, glossy and has a great looking car on the cover and the show is funny as hell and I remember thinking "I'd vote for him" when the tallest one--Jeremy Clarkson--announced the winner of the "Weird Crush" award. O_o
And then, a day after I found the birthday of
James May (16 January... Capricorn... I can see why he got the nickname "Captain Slow"...), fatboyho linked me to a
video where they melted steel using a solar furnace and as I was watching the video, I was like "...didn't I just look up James May yesterday?" O_O
A few more eps of Top Gear and some columns written by him later, I realized that the choice of his words on the show were uncannily similar to the way he wrote his columns so the only logical conclusion is that the script-writer for the show is a great faker of literary style. ;) *thumbs up* Lol!

...I've also come to realize how much I missed my poofy hair...
Pretty sure people who knew me before September 2008 will remember my utterly fugly and stubborn locks. There were times when I just couldn't be bothered with it since no amount of combing will tame it and cutting it to whatever style (be it short or layered) will eventually end up looking like it was before I'd wasted good money at a saloon.
But despite the bed hair on pretty much everyday, I liked it. I liked how no amount of combing will tame it so I could just do away with any proper combing. The "poof" of it makes my hats look good. I couldn't wear any of my hats now coz my hair's all flat and straight and flat hair + funky hat = oddity.
:( I wanna chop my locks off and grow 'em out like they were supposed to...

The Middleman's Big Radio PromotionAfter abstaining from radio airwaves since my FM radio broke years ago, I've been rather musically-deprived. So I logged onto
Power98 today and listened to the radio online and guess what? They are promoting this new show called The Middleman on one of the local cable channel.
The thing is... I had been trying to get people to watch The Middleman for a few months now--since the start of their quiet summer premiere
June of this year actually. Summer TV season is known for its lightheartedness and they are always great mindless fun to watch so having The Middleman--the epitome of lighthearted mindless fun
this year--start its glorious TV run then was sheer genius. Or great corporate planning.
But I have mixed feelings about a great TV show being promoted on radio. More people will know about it and eventually, they will be "popular" and will lose much of their appeal.
Seriously... On one hand, I would love nothing more than informing people of wonderful understated shows but on the other hand, I don't want said wonderful understated shows to lose their quirk. That's the only thing that sets them apart from all the generic shows out there...
