in a short one and a half hour driving lesson, mr lim had gotten me to drive on public roads, corrected my hand position during left, right and u-turns AND reverse not so tidily.
as usual, he got off somewhere near to let me drive to kallang stadium but instead of the lil nook he usually stops, he switched places with me at a nearby bus stop. it was easier than getting out of the nook since the nook is really small. i didn't kill the engine even once during my forward drives today. happy! i turned into the carpark a lil too late tho. cut into the other lane but there's no car so all's well. gotta take more care next time.
when we got to the carpark, i did 2 standard rounds before he asked me to stop and do u-turns in the middle of the carpark. ^_^;; i was hoping he would take note of my less-than-perfect u-turns. i did abt 40 min of turning... stopped for 2 cars, evaded a couple more & dodged an ojisan driving towards me in MY lane. sheesh... and i tot i'm the one with the L plate. i'm pretty sure he would be cussing me but no matter, it's his fault for not obeying the almighty arrow. heehee... he gave the funniest expression tho.
then mr lim asked me to drive a lil forward before reversing. yay! my first reverse!!! and to think i was just ranting abt how everyone else i know is starting on reverse and i'm still on forward driving. see kids? never say words that you'll hafta eat back at a later time. anyways, another 20 min of bad reverse, bad clutch/gas control, sudden brakes & dead engines, he gave up and took a break. he made me read the minus-point pointers for forward driving. ^_^;;
and we're off to forward driving again. my right turning is improving... i can move off a lil faster now... but i'm still brooding over my bad reverse. oh, and i almost kissed a pickup truck's ass--i mean rear bumper. damn brakes... i still can't stop d car w/o myself and mr lim jerking forward.
all in all, it's been fun. now i'm wasting my precious youth in school writing my blog. wonderful ain't it?
