it's amazing how such a simply game could get me so fired up. i'm such a sucker for cutsy games.
welcome to MapleStory, where super mario meets the new millenium. u start off in maple island, a small island for beginners to hone their skills. after u haf accumulated enough level (eg. 8-10) and depending on wat u wanna be, certain amt of str/dex/int/luk, you would hafta take a ship to the main island, victoria isle. once there, u will be off to the designated towns to change ur class.
this game was first introduced to me by my bear brother, the same guy who made me interested in ragnarok online. he told me his friends were playing and asked me to check the official site out and blam, i'm hooked. before i knew it, my own friends were also telling me abt how they juz started playing MS some time during last wk.
also, another obsession this wk is yu-gi-oh. it started out with an innocent search for new fanfics to read but even that took me the whole night. the search for more yu-gi-oh stuffs brought me to a new heights as i was sourcing out bit torrents & vcd stores for the epic 224 episode anime.
as most of u might know, yu-gi-oh manga ended at bk 38 (but a new series GX is in place) and the anime is split into series 1 & series 2. the series currently being americanized is the latter. way back when i started my ygo manga collection (abt 3 yrs ago maybe?), i had bought series 1 while in search of series 2 after a chance encounter of episode 3 on scv at my aunt's house. back then, being young and naive, i didn't know of the split and thus didn't bother much abt not finding the 2nd series. not that the stores had much to offer anyways... but now, things are different. i blew 30 bux on the first few parts of series 2. the ones i've got was oni til epi 102. i still haf like another 122 more...
which bring me to my 3rd pt of the day. mirc and me don't mix. in search of the missing 122 episodes, i was forced into logging into mirc for greener pastures. i had nvr been gd at using mirc and again, it took me the whole night to finally figure out how to work things but the queueing is terrible. i nvr knew such long queues was possible other than the hello kitty-mcD incident. and i made a real silly mistake. paraphrasing a random person in said ygo channel. doh. haha...
to me: "u r searching for pokemon in a yu gi oh channel. what are you, high or sth?"
in the end, i managed 2 episodes and, as of now, is still queueing for another 2. wish me luck in waiting for the endless line. ^_~
