It's been a while since my last post about the iPod Touch. 8 months to be exact. And in all of these 8 months, I had the
misfortune of not being able to bring it out with me everywhere coz I don't wanna subject myself to all the extra pokes and prods of base/camp security--known to others as NSmen. So I left it at home and only brought it out on weekends after I got it properly dolled up in the form of a screen protector and a back cover thing.
That arrangement had served me well until last Wednesday. I had a whole week of no base or camp visits so I thought it'd be a good time to bring it out so I did and for a few days, it was great. I managed to finished the final few episodes of Brotherhood Season 2--would prolly still be stuck at S02E07 if I didn't bring it out this week. But on my way home on Wednesday, after I ignored the Citibank credit card hounds that were waiting to ambush me outside Tampines MRT station and holding up the universal talk-to-the-hand palm-to-the-face gesture to one adventurous young salesgirl, I don't know how--prolly something to do with my adjusting of the dangly earphone wires or something--but I dropped my iPod Touch. It took a tumble and skidded a few inches on the screen and I let out a sharp yelp. And a loud exasperated "Fuck!". Why couldn't it have fallen on the back cover instead? *sob* Now there's a scratch on the screen protector and I just saw a crack on the back cover today.
Another 4 months and I can proudly proclaim to not have dropped that piece of electronic device for a year! A whole year! What a momentous event!!
(In case you don't know what my track record is like, just for comparison--my last brand new hot-off-the-rack electronic gadget thing was my SE G700 Business edition non-camera phone and that lasted what, a week before I dropped it and grazed a corner. So yeah.)
...I bet the hounds were laughing at my plight and the girl would be thinking "serves you right for 'talk-to-the-hand'-ing me". :'(
