Thanks to the lovely Vanessa, I have gotten meself a 32GB iPod Touch at the low low price of SGD$580. I know, I know, for that price, I coulda gotten meself a 32GB iPod Phone 3GS but what for? All I wanna do is use it to watch videos and surf the interweb. I can't use it at work coz there's a camera and if I were to take out the camera, it'd become an iPod Touch anyway (but if you want to get technical about it, it'd become an iPod Touch that can make calls). 'Sides, I would hafta *pay* someone to *take out* a part that they could use in the manufacturing of another iPhone. Oh the irony.

So I've had it for 4 days, played with it twice and I have already found a few simple yet essential flaws that should not've been there in the first place.

Let the ranting continue. (You can stop here if you like)

1. Why can't we just drag and drop files directly into the device instead of going through iTunes? I can't put in pictures without syncing the entire folder! =_=

2. Why can't we rotate the photo on the device itself? Now I hafta go back to the folder, rotate it and sync with the thing again. =_=

3. Why can't we see the animated GIFs being animated? They only show the first frame of the gif. =_=

4. Why can't we have FM receiver on the device? It's not really that big a deal but I'm old skool like that. 'Sides, our local radio stations don't have internet streaming anymore. I've now gotta consider whether to get those FM radio extensions accessories for it now... =_=

5. Why can't we turn wifi on or off simply by touching the wifi icon at the top left hand corner? I'll forget to turn it off and leaving it on sucks energy. =_= Plus, I'm worried about the security of my shit.

6. Why can't we see exactly how many percent our batt has left by touching the battery icon on the top right corner? All we know is the vague agaration (approximation) of how much we have left graphically. =_= Would be great if they could tell use how many hours/minutes we have left but that's just asking too much.

...I just realized something. My Sony Ericsson G700 Business Edition--a phone that brings me another set of problems altogether--is able to do all 5 stuffs that I wish my Touch can do. *sighs*

Next up, list of stuffs I need to get/do:
1. Protective case and/or cover
2. Screen protector
3. Video converter
4. Tetris
5. Bejeweled
6. eBuddy
7. FileMagnet
8. Yahoo! Launchcast radio
9. Find AutoFill setting on iTunes
10. Bookmark websites

So I was woken up after being smothered by jess's boobies and shaf's laughter and we went for McD breakfast before sending jess to see my family GP for MC coz shaf "convinced" her to take MC and miss work so that we can hang out for the whole day. Unfortunately, I'd already bought tix to watch G.I. Joe with my aunt and 4 cousins in the afternoon so her MC is more for snuggling with her fiance instead. :P Sorry girls.

So we went for the movie and it was surprisingly entertaining! Might be because I am watching it for the lulz and I got what I paid for. XD

Potential spoiler alert!!!

For the whole duration of the movie--117min to be exact, bro and I managed to MST it and used more than half a dozen pop culture references.

We referenced Starship Troopers (the original one), Stargate, Stargate Atlantis, Star Wars, Doctor Who, Prison Break, Scarlett Johansson, Red Alert 3, Team Fortress 2, Transformers... On hindsight, we should've also referenced The Karate Kid during the dojo scene. Lol!

...You don't watch a G.I. Joe movie for its plot, do you? I don't fault such movies on plot. The shoddy CGI and cheesy lines were what I'd expected after watching the trailer so I try not to fault the movie on those either. I think I should applaud the CGI people for making the effects look as shoddy as the props. You don't get dedication to continuity like that anymore.

One thing that didn't really work for me was the flashbacks. It's quite disjointed to be cutting back and forth between the past and present especially since we could've done without some of the back stories. Gave us a little bit more insight but ultimately not essential. Bro also had some problems with scenes that weren't necessary and they aren't even flashbacks. There really are a lot of scenes we could've done without...

They also gave some crap reason on why Snake Eyes does not speak but seeing as how often people change characters' back stories in movies (yes, I'm talking about you Fox), I won't blame them. Personally, I like his um... more *widely* accepted/known reason on why he doesn't speak because I'm a sadist like that.

Cameo alert for Brendan Fraser. Aunt said he was a rather memorable character even though he appeared for like a minute or so and had about 5 lines. You can't help but be drawn to him. Lol... Some people just have presence like that. Unlike me. *draws circles dejectedly on the floor in a dark corner*

So after the movie, I was telling bro how they actually could do another 2 more sequels at least since most of the characters' back stories wasn't explored and we have Snake Eye's adolescent and pre-movie years to flash on extraneously.

End potential spoiler alert

After the movie, we went to grandma's house and had some dinner and I was itching something fierce for a karaoke session. Rounded up my aunt and another 2 cousins and we went to the rather new Cash Studio at the top floor of the old Princess building at Bedok Interchange. Clean and tidy, good selection of songs, friendly staff and reasonably priced. Floor's a bit sloped coz it used to be a cinema and there were more stairs and steps than necessary. We screamed our lungs out for all of the 3 hours we had the room for--satisfying stuff. Everyone's throat was sore so we had some drinks and satay at the nearby hawker center and chatted before we realized it's already midnight and the last bus home was leaving soon.

Haven't had this much fun since... well... I can't remember. But that's only because I have worse memory than a goldfish.
